The Armed Forces Act 2011 places a duty on Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary to inspect and report on the independence and effectiveness of investigations carried out by the armed forces’ police services.

HMIC has today published the findings of the first inspection under this act, into the effectiveness of the Royal Air Force Police leadership in relation to its investigations.
