National Police Chiefs’ Council Chair Sara Thornton said:

“Under the leadership of Chief Constable Alex Marshall for the past four years, the College of Policing has made great strides in developing policing as a profession. The College plays a crucial role in giving officers and staff knowledge and skills to meet the complex challenges of policing today and in the future.

“On behalf of my chief officer colleagues, I want to thank Alex for his contribution to policing in leading the College and as a chief officer for many years. We look forward to working closely with his successor to continue this important work.”
