Over the past few years a team of runners from Dumfries calling themselves the Run Doonhame (RDH) team have raised a considerable amount of money for Care of Police Survivors and Cash For Kids (Dumfries and Galloway).
Last year (2016) the RDH team raised over £26000 when they ran in relay, 24 hours a day from London-Cardiff-Dublin-Belfast –Edinburgh, where they arrived in time to all individually run the Edinburgh Marathon a total of 750 miles of running.
