Cash-strapped cops slammed for forking out £5 million per year for Jackton College training centre in East Kilbride worth just £28 million
Cash-strapped cops are forking out almost £5million a year for a privately funded building worth just £28million. The Jackton College training centre opened in 2001 under a PFI deal lasting 25 years. But the agreement was slammed as a waste of taxpayers’ cash after it emerged police chiefs will have coughed up around half the cost of the East Kilbride site in just three years. Figures reveal contracts signed with a German bank and other businesses to fund, build and maintain the facility cost the force £4.7million in 2016.
