Updated: Following the publication of ‘Immigration Statistics, October to December 2017’, an inconsistency has been noted between the asylum decisions pending figure in table as_01 and the Asylum Initial decision work in progress figure published in the Home Office Transparency data. Further investigation found that the number of cases pending an initial decision in table as_01 was too high and a number of cases did in fact have an initial decision that had not initially been picked up in the data matching process. As a result the ‘pending’ figures as at the end of 2017 Q4 have been revised in tables as_01, as_01_q, as_02 and as_02_q.
